SHELL TO SEA
Máire Ní Séighin, daughter of Michael, one of the Rossport Five will be in Belfast on Wednesday 19thOctober to launch the first branch of the 'Shell toSea' campaign in the North.

The Rossport Five spent more than 3 months in jail for defying a Court   order sought by Shell to prevent them from protesting against Shell laying a gas pipeline through their community.   The gas, one of Ireland's most important natural resources has been given to giant multinational corporations Shell and Statoil for what many regard as a pittance, by the Irish Govt.
These multinationals   are attempting to pipe the gas untreated from off the Irish coast line,   in order to maximise their profits from this gas.   This is despite objections from the local community that this presents a safety hazard to them and their families.

Máire Ní Séíghinn will address a public meeting   in the Culturlann, Falls Road, Belfast on Wednesday 19th Oct, 7.30pm.

The meeting will be conducted in Irish and in English and will be chaired by Fergus O'Hare.

All welcome
